DEDICATED TWL EMPLOYEES HONOURED FOR 25 YEARS’ SERVICE

16th March 2009

DEDICATED TWL EMPLOYEES HONOURED FOR 25 YEARS’ SERVICETWO dedicated employees from a Skelmersdale-based training provider were honoured by colleagues at a special event.

Lucy Woolfenden and Glenys Brown have worked with TWL Training Ltd for 25 years, and to recognise their dedication, a special celebration was held at the company’s Head Office at West Lancashire Investment Centre where they were presented with a bouquet of flowers each and Champagne.

Both Lucy, who is PA to the Senior Management Team, and Glenys, Claims Manager, joined the company when it was known as Tomorrow’s People Today (TPT).

Lucy joined as a Secretary and was based at youth-focused TPT’s offices on Railway Road, Old Skelmersdale, while Glenys joined as a Wages Clerk for the Community Project Programme, which was focused on adult training and based at the St Richard’s Pastoral Centre on Liverpool Road, Old Skelmersdale.

Over the past 25 years, the company has expanded massively, becoming TP Training, then Training West Lancashire. Now called TWL Training Ltd, it is part of the Newcastle College Group, but still has offices locally at Whelmar House in Skelmersdale Town Centre and a Head Office at West Lancashire Investment Centre, on White Moss Business Park.

In addition, TWL also has centres across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, delivering a range of programmes to help people acquire the necessary skills to find employment.

Lucy, from Up Holland, said: “It has been a real privilege to work for this company for the past 25 years. I am proud to be part of an organisation that has helped so many people improve their skills and gain qualifications which help them to find employment and become valued members of society.”

Glenys, from Old Skelmersdale, said: “I can’t believe it is 25 years since I started working for the company. In those years, the company has grown from working only in West Lancashire to being a national organisation with more than 50 centres.

“The work is so varied and, like Lucy, I feel privileged to be working with fabulous people who are dedicated to helping people find employment.

“We’d both like to thank all our colleagues for their kind words and presents in marking our 25 years working for TWL.”
