TWL SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES DURING THE DOWNTURN

22nd May 2009

TWL SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES DURING THE DOWNTURNWEST Lancashire training provider TWL held a Breakfast Meeting to offer support to local businesses through the economic downturn.

Representatives from 12 firms in the district attended the event at TWL Training Ltd’s offices in Whelmar House, Skelmersdale Town Centre.

Following a welcome from TWL Centre manager Gillian Elston, businesses listened to a range of presentations, from TWL advisors and from Skelmersdale Jobcentre Plus, on what assistance is available to enable them to continue creating employment opportunities for local people.

Gillian Elston said: “It is important that we continue to support businesses and our learners during the recession.

“We explained to employers about the subsidies which are available and how we can offer Work Trials, which give businesses a chance to ensure that they employ the right person for the job.

“The Breakfast Meeting was very successful, many employers commented on how they found it useful both in terms of a networking opportunity and learning more about how they can work with TWL to create employment for people.”

Businesses wanting to find out more how TWL can help them should contact 01695 556864.
